Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. Familiar, huh? Yeah, you should have heard that already! It is from Stitch through the Disney film: Lilo and Stitch. And you what you are thinking is correct... Ohana Art Cafe is an artsy Stitch-themed cafe! 💖
Hawaii, the setting of the movie, is famous for the best beaches in the whole world! That is why, this quaint, little nook attempted to be one. Ohana Art Cafe is located in Pundaquit Beach, but not in the beachfront per se, so I liked that the management made an effort for the sands and all. Tucked in a hideaway, you would not realize that this is a cafe. The front looks like a house made of nipa. It’s like a munting bahay kubo but going inside, it is actually huge! It was like an elf’s house where we were transported to another world. No offense, but it gave me a good feeling like that. Upon entering, you would be greeted by lots of plants, colorful beach elements like shells, sands, hats, sarongs, and such. Also, motivational quotes are found everywhere! If you want to recharge yourself and get some inspiration in life, aside from eating, this is a place to be. The design of the cafe is made from different kinds of arts. Actually, the cafe itself is art. Duh, the name? Haha! Can’t say anything -- hands down! I believe that my eyes were twinkling the whole time we were there because I cannot fathom how nice the place is. It exerts natural beauty and I do not care that there is no air-conditioned units. Real beach experience, right? Feeling the golden sun and breezy wind pressing my skin were two of the great things that happened to me that afternoon. Ohana Art Cafe is not a fast-food chain. It has a disclaimer that they prepare and cook the food with love, so it can take a little while. The serving time did not matter to us. Our food was all ready, but we were still taking some shots. Did not realize waiting for food because we were busy lurking around. Dada and I had Carbonara. It was served in a kawali which we found very cute. The staff said it is perfect for two people but it can actually feed four due to big servings. Their platings are definitely adorbs! The drinks have a ponytail as part of the design but has a disclaimer not to get it. Kulit yet qt! Another thing that I liked in Ohana, it supports the environment. Our drinks were served with bamboo straws. This was why, Dada and I decided to buy ours, too. The straws we had have carvings of the cafe's name. It has a two-in-one purpose, a souvenir and a straw. What a deal, right?
If you feel like Zambales is far, it also has a branch in Manila: Ohana Travel Cafe. Like the Zambales branch, it also offers all-day breakfast, burgers, pizza, pasta, rice meals, desserts, shakes, frappes, and more. IDK but I find it funny that the "travel" outlet is in Novaliches. Kasi naman yung byahe papunta at pauwi doon, pang-probinsya na rin, akala mo nagtravel ka na papuntang Tarlac o Pangasinan. Hahahahaha! But yeah, yeah, yeah, that's an alternative Ohana Cafe, too :) Dada and I planned about this day. He will be going to Japan for twelve days, so this -- just wanna save some moments before he leaves. I know, I know, we clingy. Hahahahaha! I had been asking Dada if we could go to The Inflatable Island, just when it opened in Subic, back in 2017. I know that the place is their turf. That is why I kept on bugging him. The Ohana Art Cafe, on the other hand, is where we were supposed to eat last year. Almost this time of the year, too, when we went to Zambales with the squad. Supposedly, we would have our snacks or dinner here after the island hopping. However, we left Nagsasa Cove later than planned. Plus, one of our friends was in a rush, so it was canceled. Of course, this kid has been so exhilarated because of this happy day! Thank you to The Inflatable Island and Ohana Art Cafe! Indeed, dreams do come true! Talk about the right timing and the right person, yeah? YE! 💖
