For some reasons, KitKat Chocolatory made me reminisce about the movie: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. My sister and I used to watch movies like that, especially during holidays, way back when we were still little girls. So, seeing and smelling a chocolate-bar boutique in front of me? aAahHhHh, gives me that Christmassy mood for real! UwU KitKat Chocolatory exists in Japan (of course, as this is its brain country), Europe, Australia, and Thailand. And this year, it arrived here in the Philippines! Since I got overwhelmed for the nostalgia it provided, plus this is one of Dada's favorite chocolates, we decided to give its offerings a try. 'Cause why not, right? Can never go wrong with KitKat -- classic flavors or unique-flavored ones! KitKat has proven their magic to me when Dada brought home 24 kinds of KitKat that were fresh from Japan! I like them all, but my most favorite flavor would be the Cherry Blossom! Next would be the Hazelnut and Wintermelon! Its Banana and Strawberry flavors are good, too. Really enjoyed trying these extraordinary KitKat flavors. What more if it is Filipino-inspired? Ela Manila is v proud! This first-ever KitKat Chocolatory in the Philippines is super nakakaproud as KitKat launched limited-edition flavors that are inspired by the Pinoy taste! Customized into localized flavors, KitKat handcrafted two special must-tries: Ube, Quezo, & Saba; and Mango Graham. KitKat layered the chocolate bars with Filipino delicacies that indeed, could make the holidays extra sweeter! These are perfect for gift-giving since its packagings are set for the holidays. Actually, the chocolatory is made for this season -- running only until the 25th of December. But aside from the Filipino twists, this pop-up store also offers personalized KitKat bars through the Create-Your-Own option. Make your KitKat dreams come true by choosing your type of chocolate bar, filling, and three toppings from different types of nuts (almonds, macadamia, cashew), dried fruits (cranberry, raisins, mango), biscuits (graham crackers, pretzels), as well as from your most-loved munchies like popcorn, garlic chips, chili flakes, cornflakes, cacao nibs, and pink salt. Your KitKat lovers bought the limited flavors of Mango Graham and Ube and Cheese. And for us (yes, we have the same thoughts), the special Pinoy flavors give out what you expect -- nothing more, nothing less. I like the tamis with alat and asim on both creations. And as for the Create-Your-Own, I made mine with almonds, macadamia nuts, and popcorn; while Dada had cornflakes, dried mangoes, and cashews. Can't compare the flavors from one another because ~like what I said~ each has dissimilar combinations. And so, I think that all KitKat combos are one-of-a-kind. What's important is that: these chocolate bars should spark love and joy -- the true essence and meaning of this wonderful time of the year -- when handed to the consumers. Agree? Agree! :) So then... Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays y'all! 💖 KitKat Chocolatory SM Mega Fashion Hall https://www.kitkat.ph/ https://www.facebook.com/kitkat.ph/

This is just a quick blog due to the Christmas rush! Yes baby, Papa Jesus is coming to town! Actually, to the world -- for the whole universe. Ihhh, so much love!!! 💖 But for now, the Santa Claus would be my sister. Just like the good old days, holiday season or not, she treated me merienda at Market! Market! I so wanna blog this because we have levelled up. Before, we only used to eat at the cheap kiosks. Like mga pantawid-gutom lang, ganun. But now? Wow! Snacking at the sossy wing in the first level =))))) My sister and I got addicted to coffee early- to after-college days. We got it from our momma! And so, we had some frappes at Farron Cafe. I just asked, "Ate, g?" And she nodded. Bilis kausap, ano po? Haha! 'Cause similar to my previous post, I have been attacked by nostalgia this month. Aside from the empanada, it is Farron's coffee that had hyped my mood up when I was still an Ortigas working girl. I missed those days, to be honest, so when I saw the store, I wanted one. I had Coffee Almond, while sissy had Hazelnut. We both had the Coffee-Blended frappes, but Farron also offers Cream Blends, Fruit Blends, and Chocolate with Coffee Blends. It also expanded its menu to Milk Tea and Yogurt, Fruit Juices, Hot Drinks, and Over Ice Coffees. If you think that is all this small cafe offers? Wait, 'cause there's more! Farron Cafe extended its hands by accepting differently-abled employees, too! No wonder why its motto is Love in Every Cup, right? Farron Cafe gives out so much love to everyone! As for our food, we had Wacko Waffles because we saw this in Camille Co's vlog. Hahahahaha! We were watching her video and we thought that these waffles on sticks are yummy just by looking at it. Got curious, I searched about the store, and v lucky, one branch is near us! I told this info to my sister, then again, asked her if she can treat me once we go to the mall. She said yes! And nope, promises are not made to be broken as we were here! Heehee. Enjoyed two of their Perfect Pairs: Cheesy Caramel (caramel syrup with cheese filling) and Cookies & Cream (white chocolate and crushed Oreos) waffles. As expected, the waffles are good -- it did not disappoint! The crews suggested some add-ons and whipped cream choices to make the waffles much more extra, but we are fine with our orders already. And aside from these bestsellers, Wacko Waffles also offers Classics and Premiums. Unlike the Perfect Pairs, these are plain, flavored waffles -- meaning, has no toppings. Yummy, yasss!
One December night, Dada and I were blown by the universe to Quezon Avenue. I had my own errands that evening: Robilievers' year-end party with Robi Domingo, while he did some overtime experiments at the lab. Q. Ave was our meet-up place since I came from Visayas Avenue, but stayed at 7/11 as I wait for Dada. Jollibee and McDonald's were still open at that time, but I craved for Fariñas Ilocos Empanada and that's where we had our late dinner. Truly, grateful for Fariñas Ilocos Empanada because there is no need to travel for 12 hours just to have this yummy Ilokano empanada! This is one of my favorite lunch every payday when I was still working in Ortigas. Since it is December, so much nostalgia has been hitting me. And voila, this. Aside from its kwek-kwek color, what makes this empanada unique from the others? Its ingredients! I ordered the Special Empanada: egg, longganisa, vegetables with extra cheese. Dada had the Ultimate: egg, longganisa, bagnet, and vegetables of bean sprouts and green papaya. The menu varies from having double eggs and two longganisas or both. It also has salted-egg and all meat kind-of-empanadas which Filipinos would truly like! Another edge of Ilokano empanada is its size. It is not the usual bite-sized empanada. This one is big, so it is much nakakabusog! Plus, it is greatly paired with either vinegar or ketchup. One can also eat this with hands or with utensils. Ayos, right? Aside from the bestseller: empanada, Fariñas Ilocos Empanada also offers other authentic Ilokano dishes like bagnet, longganisa, miki, pinakbet, dinakdakan, and more! It also offers pasalubongs like chichacorn, Bugnay Wine, Basi Wine, even sukang Iloco and kapeng Iloco! Indeed, cravings satisfied! Trivia: My grandmother, on my mother's side, grew up in Ilocos Norte. My grandpa, also from my Mama's side, is from Tarlac. As for Papa's side, in Pangasinan. So indeed, I have a true-blue Ilokano blood. Uhuh, uhuh, uhuh Ilokana reprezent who does not stan the Marcoses! :) :) :) :) :) Fariñas Ilocos Empanada Various locations: https://www.zomato.com/manila/restaurants/fariñas-ilocos-empanada https://www.facebook.com/farinasilocosempanada/ |
