Yay for surviving half of the week! But nay because my past dweller self has attacked again. Jesus Christ, I am getting sentimental with the past every Thursday! It wasn't my intention to throwback stuff, but my thoughts led me to (huhu), and that's why I am writing right now (hehe). Ehhh? I suddenly felt nostalgic about my inhabited tambayans with the people close to my heart. I always have those special feelings about the things, places, and even cuisines that remind me of a certain individual or group of people. Like Holly Golightly's signature look, F.R.I.E.N.D.S' Central Perk, and Lang Leav's poems, I love putting trademarks exclusively for such persons too. So! Here is a list of the noshes and memories I super miss right now: Who would not love Jollibee?!? Because I 100% love do! Almost 20 years being a jolly bee already. It has always been my favorite since I was a kid. Maybe why I'm bida-bida. I mean, why I have that bida ang saya mindset. Hah! My fondest memory of this original Filipino food hub would always be those weekend mornings at grannies' with my childhood bestie. There is a near outlet at my grandparents' house so every time I am there, I would wake up with pancakes and hot chocolate. Treated like a princess whenever I am with my Nanay and Tatay! Hihihi. Thank ü, love ü!!! What makes it more lovable though? Because I always get to feast with Baby (that's my best friend's nickname) and we would both eat our breakfast together while watching our favorite Totally Spies. Aww, right? So sweet my baby girl because even if she was still in her jammies and haven't brushed up yet, she would go to our place and check if I am already up. If I would dedicate a song to our friendship, it must be Dati by Sam Concepción and Tippy Dos Santos. I am the bunso biologically but for me, she is already part of the family as our youngest. SML, Baby!!! xx Pancakes and hot chocolate at Jollibee with my grandmother and grandfather, plus childhood best friend ✔✔✔ Why yes, I love Jabee so much! However, I also admire the most famous American fast-food chain: McDonald's. Albeit contrary to the nationalistic taste, McDo has gotten my tongue as well. It has always been a rivalry between the two but shut up, let's face it, both are luscious in their own unique ways! Moreover, McDo has collated lots of memories of me and my high school friends. Aside from being near at our school, it is such a good place to stay and bond. I still remember those moments where I would save my money up so after class every Friday, we would go straight here and have fun. At times, when we were really short, patak-patak. Basta, makapag-TGIF lang! Magkakasama na buong araw, lima hanggang anim pa, pero parang di nagkakasawaan eh 'no? Gosh, I miss you, Clerigna and CAT fam! Next time that we meet, I would want them to try one of the secret menus I love. Surf n Turf is heart heart! I want them to know I entrust my secrets to them just as much as I trust them. But of course, should not forget our usual coke float and fries! Our high school moments were a lot different from the kids nowadays. Yet I claim ours were the best of all the best. Yes, yes, yes! Coke float and fries combo and one of the four secret menus at McDonald's with my high school barkada ✔✔✔ Okay so... I don't usually get attracted to the opposite sex. But if I do, it lasts longer than normal flings. A curse and a blessing! So, would you believe that I have been loving my first love for 10 years now? Yup! Imagine, I have this person in my heart since I was twelve. Still young, not even in high school, but I suddenly knew what love means for the first time. My heart beat faster and the world turned slower the moment I saw him. I can remember that very clearly! Funny though, because this happened virtually. I just saw this lucky guy on TV! And although I know I can't reach Robert Marion Eusebio Domingo, for me, he is my first love. Sobrang daming nangyari besh at di ko na sila iisa-isahin! Yet, in all those, I have been by his side, cheering for him, supporting him in every way I can. And uh... Recently, he became an endorser of Greenwich. I really love going to this pizza house because (I have the Spanish blood so) I am attracted to such Western dishes. But I liked it more because it is cheaper compared to other Italian restaurants and I get to see Robi's face in the posters. Hahahahaha! I told you, this is more than fangirling! I really love him! Overloaded meals and crisscut fries at Greenwich -- daydreaming I am snacking out with my first and forever love ✔✔✔ Kinda traumatized with the Hapon era here in the Philippines (because I heard true stories from my grandfather, who happened to be a soldier and experienced the dreadful Death March) but, I still appreciate the mesmerizing beauty of Japan. I admire its fashion, culture, and way of life. Unlike others, I'm not (that) crazy with Japanese food... Yet. But you know, Tokyo Tokyo made me! Their unlimited rice and authentic recipe, plus red interiors, and employees' uniforms impress me. Whether it is bento meals or ramen noodles, the food just comfort my hunger and satisfy my appetite all the time! Also, the red iced tea, worth to mention, is the best too! Thank God for these heavenly food! Well, as much as I'm grateful for what I'm eating, this is where I had my last dinner with my workmates in my first work -- people I'm glad I met. That moment I knew, it wasn't just workmates relationship. I found new friends I definitely want to keep. Similar to what I said to Jap cuisines, I thought I would just go to the office to work because these girls do not seem to be part of my zone but luckily, we clicked! And isn't that better? Yup, it is. Sumo meals at Tokyo Tokyo with my workmates turned real-life buddies ✔✔✔ It is sooooo much fun to have a sister! Well, older sister, I guess? Or any elder sibling. They treat the fam whether they like it or not, aye! The fun of the younger ones are, of course, reverse to them. Or maybe, g lang, because that fills their pride since they are ahead? Hmm, idk, whtvr... Sissy already earned money while I was broke with my daily allowance so, she always treats me when we go out. No choice nga? Haha! Contact lenses, clothes, bags, shoes, food cravings, or whatever -- she spoils me with the little things that make me happy. And to tell you, that happened for almost seven years! I thought it was that easy to work because when I always ask her for some stuff, she gives it right away. However, when it was my turn, I wanted to scream and give up. Hehe! More than tangibles, it was my sister who taught me to try new things, visit new places, and eat new food. I super remember that because we were eating at our favorite, Sbarro. I told her we should eat somewhere that is more inexpensive. However, she told me I must experience life. Since then, we always aim to try something new. Here is how Frankie's, a New York wings stop, that got us addicted as well. And now, we are eyeing two eats in the food court of SM Aura. Yay, double happiness! Anything chicken at Frankie's and anything cheesy at Sbarro with my big, cray cray sissy ✔✔✔ As I told you from above, I also think I was a European citizen in my past life. I love the Western side of the world for some inexpressible reasons. I just do! Hihihi. Whenever Dada (le boyf) and I have some extra dime and feel like celebrating life, hello Shakey's! This place feels like our hideaway. Tamang tambay at tamang throwback, mga ganung feels. Dining here brings us back in the '80s or '90s where every little thing just seems so fine. And that is why, we feel it too. Hehz. Since we are always here, I guess the waiters and waitresses already know the meals we would place. Dada orders Carbonara and I always have Lasagna. We choose a different kind of pizza every date. However, our forev fave would be the pepperoni, thin crust. Add the mojos and dips that are all mine! OMG, sherep! Huehue. Shakey's has seen not only our ups, but even our downs. There was a time Dada and I were on a fight. He made an effort to write a letter, bought my favorite cupcakes, and, and, and, he took me here. Just like how he surprises me, Shakey's does astound us in unexpected, beautiful ways. Carbonara, lasagna, thin-crust pizza, and mojos at Shakey's with my love ✔✔✔ My family, as in both sides, super love eating! Hindi naman halata, 'di ba? Hahaha. Since I already featured Max's Restaurant in my post last year, in my other blog, I would also want to acknowledge the other resto my basic family always go: Kenny Rogers! This is my sissy and I's favorite go-to when we feel like treating Mama and Papa. Aside from having a crush to one of the crews in Glorietta branch (luhhh-ndiii), we love dining here because first, the family combo meals fit us since it is for four; second, Kenny serves balanced diet and the family that eats healthily, lives longer; and third, it comes with a reasonable price and compensates fairly enough. Having lunch or dinner here gives me a peek at cloud nine. Good food and wonderful company, uhh! Chicken with gravy, mac 'n cheese, baby potatoes, muffins, and my super fam are all I need in this life. And this is why for me, Kenny Rogers' Roasters is the best in town! Its pasta, meat, sandwiches; all are delectable! Bonus pa the greatest people I am with. Ahhhhh, feels nice just thinking about these. TYG, SML! Roasted Chicken group meal at Kenny Rogers with the fam bam ✔✔✔ While one should completely devour every moment, it may be a good idea to look back at times with the things that made us happy, even if it's in the past already. I hope all of us won't forget the people and experiences we had because everything in life would either be good lessons or good memories that can mold us into how golden we are in the right now. So with that, happy Thursday, you guys! :)
