After a long, tiring week, woohoo, I am free from work! But before going home, Mama asked me to get her Avon products at Comembo. I did not mind because the place is just near our house. So, after picking up her errands, I decided to walk home quickly because my life battery needs to be rebooted and recharged. As I was walking, I saw the bunch of small-eating hubs near the Ospital ng Makati. It has been a while since I passed by here. So I thought, I should buy myself a drink for being able to survive the week. This is not actually a food review because the milk tea I got was just normal milk tea. I also got fried noodles with calamari there. Both of them were okay naman. I enjoyed my dinner as I ate these comfort food while binge-watching vlogs of David Guison and VernVerniece on YouTube. Annnd, can I just say how much I love this -- me seeing the beauty in little things, being happy in the simple stuff. I am just so grateful that I got to spend alone time on a Friday night, just chillin' and giving myself some care it deserves. Thanks to this combo meal, I realized such kinds of things. Truly, TGIF, yay!

Lugang Cafe was the chosen dining place by my sister for her thirty-first birthday. She had no other plans for her day, but this. And so we went because her wish must be our command! 💖 My sister called the SM Aura branch of Lugang Cafe for a reservation at six in the evening. We were a little early, so we were asked to sit outside first. However, it was 6:10 PM already and we were still not accommodated even if the forefront lady knew that we booked a table for 10. When Mama asked her, that was just the time we went in. Wanna trash talk the crew, but we were greeted warmly the moment we walked inside. Plus, our amazing server vanished the bad vibes away. He was focused on his work that he double-checked our orders to the kitchen first. Nanay wanted two servings of clams. Sadly, only one was left. He is knowledgeable and well-coordinated with his team. He told us that quickly, and for that, thumbs up. At least, my Lola was not disappointed. Right, right. We ordered a bit late because we were waiting for the latecomers. When Ate and Kuya Yin, also Papa and Yasmin arrived, that was when we ordered every dish for our dinner. We had Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao and Steamed Crab Roe & Pork Xiao Long Bao for our dim sum slash appetizers, Crispy Chicken and Roasted Duck for the roasted dishes section, also Spicy Clams with Thai Sweet Basil and Wonton Soup. Our rice was Fried Rice with Salted Fish and Diced Chicken which I super loved! We also had Birthday Noodles because duh, sissy's birthday! Hahahahaha. And woah, I got amazed by how fast they serve the food! It was cooked hot and quick! Also insatiably! Not sure if that is the Taiwanese or Chinese way or both? My taste buds are really not into these types of food. But, hands down for the quality food and service! I now get why sissy wanted to celebrate her night here. My favorite was the Peking Duck! Lugang has a small section in the front of the resto where you could see the chef doing the cooking preparations, and I was famished when I saw the hanging ducks there. Sitting, waiting for 30 minutes, all I dreamt was about this. And yay, it came true! Also loved the two-hundred eighty-peso Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie. Our grandmother wanted to try it, so we ordered that for desserts. It was too high! It satisfied everyone. As in. It fit for eight people. No jk! Being a semi-big group, our table has a lazy susan that helped in getting the food. I can't say anything more with the ambiance because it is sooo fancy! It has a hotel and fine dining vibes because of the mirrors around, big chandeliers, and modern chairs that make the dining hall very sossy. Aside from the dining place, know that Lugang Cafe also accommodates private gatherings and small meetings in their function rooms that are located adjacent to the main restaurant. Okay, so... I know that the name of this eating place is not pleasing to the ears of the Filipino people. I do not want to elaborate on it, but I know that you get what I mean. However, you should give Lugang Cafe a try. It's good! Overall, I can still say it is a good restaurant. Known as the best contemporary Taiwanese restaurant in Manila, Lugang Cafe serves authentic food made from Chinese ingredients. Separating the hate of the current situation regarding the West Philippine Sea and all of your president's connections with this country, I must contest that you can find a meal that you would love with Lugang's various food choices and huge menu list that can tickle the tongue of the people, whether locals or foreigners. Lugang Cafe Various locations: http://www.lugangcafe.com.ph/our-branches http://www.lugangcafe.com.ph/ https://www.facebook.com/lugangcafe/ Dada and I headed to Bonifacio Global City after watching the very amazing play, Ang Huling El Bimbo at Resorts World Manila. It was mutually decided that we would not eat at the hotel because it might be difficult to catch a Grab in case we go home late. Also, with no hypocrisy, the food choices there are way too fancy. Both of us are not ready for that. Hello, we just purchased golden tickets! Have to save up again. So, we chose the place near our homes. And not bad, since it has been a while when we bonded here at BGC anyway. I actually missed this 💖 Becauuuse, I have been a BGC girl for three months already. Dada and I try our best not to go here on weekends because it is already my everyday routine. We had no idea what to eat that night as we were still thinking about our favorite scenes that happened in Newport Performing Arts Theater until we reached Borough. Funny how I pass by Borough from Mondays to Fridays because it is situated beside our office building, and it was where we dined. Can't escape this small community, huh? Haha! I already tried Borough before, just last March, with my past coworkers. This was where we had our catching up. It was just sad that I did not bring my camera at that time, so I was not able to write a blog about that night. Qt qt too, because my Dada chose this diner because he remembered Nolita. That was the previous food hub that rented the space and he loved the dishes there so much! He was feeling nostalgic and that was how we ended up at Borough. Dada and I were greeted warmly by the staff. The moment we were seated down, they gave us glasses of water, plus the menu and we did not even ask for it. Just wow, ah. That move was indeed, commendable. Because of what they showed to us, Dada got excited to eat then. After ordering and while waiting for our comfort food, content! Super love the ambiance of Borough as it resembles with the streets of New York City. Dada informed me that New York has five so-called boroughs: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx. From there, we realized why the restobar got set up like that. And as I read up on some websites, this hypothesis of ours was kinda correct because Chef Cuit Kaufman of Borough said that the branch was actually inspired by the cuisines in the Big Apple. Yes, confirmed! By the chef himself. Hashtag facts! Unlike the one in the Podium, the BGC branch gives off a more polished and cozier atmosphere, compared to its original pub-like feels. It has a laidback, but also bright, airy, and trendy ambiance. The floral-printed couches are posh ensembles that heighten the homey vibes of the place. Inspired by The City that Never Sleeps, Borough caters meals on whatever part of the day. Also, you would totally love that this is located in Central Square, the heart of BGC that would make you feel that you really are in the little New York! Sick, right? Borough is a simple yet fine dining place. Sounds hefty? But actually, it comes with a reasonable price knowing that it offers big servings that can be shared by two to three people. Dada had the All Beef Cheeseburger. It is a hundred percent pure-beef burger that is done according to your tender, with sharp cheddar cheese that is placed on a homemade brioche bun. What is a burger without fries? Of course, it came with a thin-cut fries! Dada ate it all alone, but actually, my friends and I shared for this burger. Yes, we were three by then, yet, we were able to share. As for me, the Classic New York Lasagna. I love all lasagnas and what I like most about their version, the gooey mozzarella cheese that melted in my mouth! AaAaHhh, also the thin-crust Margherita Pizza! Roasted tomatoes and cheese? Yes please! This kid was indeed very happy that night! 💖 We were in BGC, but it was like we were transported to the Gotham because of this food experience! Excited to go here again, and next time, I will try their morning meals and late night snacks. Interested with their signature Mom's Milk and Cookies. Heard these are perfect for bfast or just for desserts, eh. Comfortable seats with food that could cheer you up -- add the good staff and your favorite companion by your side -- truly, Borough is one of the neighborly restaurants in the fields of the friendly BGCity :) Borough C2, Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City https://www.facebook.com/boroughph/ Dada celebrated his twenty-third birthday at DADS World Buffet in Glorietta because that was his birthday request. It has been a while since we dated here! Yeah, we have been suki by this dine-in and aAaAaahHhHhh, missed this!!! 💖
From the name itself, DADS World Buffet is a wonderful food adventure that includes limitless dish choices all around the globe! Various dishes from different countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Italy, Greece, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States can be indulged here at DADS. But, aside from that, it also stresses out Kamayan and Saisaki buffets. Meaning, DADS also serves the signature Filipino and Japanese food! Without a doubt, this is an all-in restaurant with a one-of-a-kind journey where guests would experience the culinary flavors from all over the world -- filled with countless savors as you go country-hopping in DADS kitchen. Though Dada and I have no reservations, we were merrily welcomed by the staff who were dressed up in national costumes and led us to our appointed seats. As we walked to our table, we passed by all parts of the room and saw how bright and lovely the ambiance each section is. The first part of the hub refers to the Kamayan. Then, DADS World Wide, the nearest to the buffet. And the last, the Saisaki. We were asked where we wanted to sit and since this guy loves Japan, we were in the Saisaki part. Nevertheless where we were seated, we were still able to try the amazing cuisines from Asia, America, and Europe! Yum, yum! Of course, it is the pasta, pizza, and bread section that I love the most. This Italian girl at heart approves! Especially that pasta bar where guests could ask the chef to cook the pasta you want. With this, you would be sure that you got your preferred meal. And, it is served deliciously hot! I recommend the Saisaki side, as well. All Japanese food, especially the tempura, maki, and teriyaki barbecue are proven and tested to be sooo good by me! Oishi, I swear! And the other most favorite part, the desserts! I love the set-up. Plus, the pastries. Would never get tired of the mini-cupcakes, cakes, and homemade ice cream. Also love the kakanin part where there are unli bibingka and puto bumbong even if it is not Simbang Gabi! Unlike others, this buffet's drinks do not require additional fees. Go on and feel free to get fresh shakes, juices, teas, or soft drinks! These are part of the deal. What I like about DADS, this resto created the game-changing scene when it introduced the no leftover policy on buffets so no food would be wasted. Aaaaand, would we forget the live music? Table by table, there is a band who is holding musical instruments. They roam around to sing joyfully to the guests. You can be serenaded by the song of your choice, too, if you want. We dined here last May 1, so it was a holiday. Remember that during weekends and holidays, the regular price would be PhP 938. As for weekdays, the lunch would be PhP 738 and the dinner for a special price of PhP 888. DADS also offers merienda buffet for PhP 238 to PhP 258. DADS World Buffet has brought the world's trademark cuisines together in just one place. A gathering of intercontinental menus, cooking styles, and hospitable service -- what more would you ask for -- all of these are presented in here! Happy tummies and happy hearts! Indeed, it was a happy, happy, happy birthday to our birthday boy! They say nobody loves you when you are 23, but I think I will 😘🤗💖 DADS World Buffet Various locations: https://www.kamayansaisakidads.com/branches https://www.kamayansaisakidads.com/ https://www.facebook.com/dadsworldbuffet/ |
