Well, annyeonghaseyo again! By that again, it's because... After writing my post about Kko Kko, I happened to remember the experience Dada and I had in another K-food place: Seol & Bean. Seol & Bean, a Korean-themed café that can be found in the middle of Fort Strip in BGC, resembles the coffee shops in SoKor -- sooo perfect for chill moments whether at day or night. It has a spacious dining area, a few paintings, and minimalistic interiors. But the thing I like the most? The store is playing some K-Drama clips and K-Pop music videos on the flat-screen TV that makes the atmosphere all over the place so Korean! ~ohhh, kilig~ If Filipinos have halo-halo (mixture of shaved ice, beans, bananas, sweet potatoes, coconuts, sago, and gulaman, topped with purple yam, leche flan, or ice cream) as our favorite dessert, Koreans also have their own signature bingsu (flavored shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings like fruits, syrup, red beans, nuts, cheesecakes and the like) and that, that is what Seol and Bean specializes about. Seol and Bean lets you indulge this Korean sweet course in an affordable yet best way as possible. Every bingsu has layers of finely shaved ice blended with an agreeable amount of sweetness and creaminess. Also, it is served in a big aluminum cup to maintain its coldness and freshness so the shavings would not melt that fast. Seol and Bean has assorted flavors you can choose from and every bingsu is topped according to its best selection. I ordered the bestseller Injulmi and it costs 190 pesos, while its double serving is priced at 260. With its crunchy nuts and pleasurable snow all over my tongue, I must say, it is a summer dessert you might want to try as well. Though Seol & Bean is famous as a fine dessert house, it not limited to bingsu and pastries though. The store offers more than that! Do you know that Seol & Bean also headlines the Korean chicken and beer combination? Yup, they do! The brand also has other comforting food on the menu like pasta and sandwiches, even coffees, smoothies, and cakes from Purple Oven. I have tried Cafe Seol Hwa in The Forum, as well as Hobing Korean Dessert Café in Stopover, but I like Seol & Bean’s location more. Also, its place gives me that inner peace for some reasons. And by that, yes, I must come back here again and relax as I try another flavor of their mega-hit bingsu! :) Seol & Bean 7th Avenue Corner 28th Street, G/F Fort Pointe Building, BGC Taguig http://seolandbean.wixsite.com/mysite https://www.facebook.com/seolandbeanofficial/

Annyeong haseyo! Naneun Ela ya! And basically, that is all Korean I can go besides from kamsahamnida, saranghaeyo, kaja, chincha, and aja. Hahahahaha! To tell you proudly, I was one of those K-drama addicts who got stereotyped in high school and college. But no, I was not able to learn the language wholly. Wish I would though! And even if I tried to hide it, I just cannot help not to love their series! Typing this breaks my heart a little because I have been so busy with a looot of things that I have no time to watch Koreanovelas anymore. Even though Descendants of the Sun, W (Two Worlds), and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo were the last, recent ones I saw, trust me, I would always have the Koryana blood inside me. That is why, when I knew that there is a Korean resto near me, I invited my boyfie agad-agad to come with me, so we can dine in one of the newest, and to tell you, one of the most talked-about in the food scene right now, Kko Kko! Kko Kko, or Kko Kko Home for some, is a local Korean food place that satisfies one's cravings for authentic fried chicken, barbecue meats, and even cheese meals! From their tagline itself, it is home to Seoul's chicken -- ensuring that it serves crispy, juicy, and unique flavors from the original recipes way back in Korea. The people behind this superb restaurant is conceptualized by the Korean TV personality Grace Lee along with her umma. The branch only opened late last year but, Kko Kko has been making a buzz because of the good feedback regarding its relaxing ambiance, free Wi-Fi access, and delicious menu, of course. Market! Market! is the closest Kko Kko branch from our home. To be honest, I did not expect to see such a restaurant like this here. It is located at the back, surpassing the ped xing to Serendra and I am not pleased with its location because it can be positioned to somewhere better where people can see it more. It seems hidden eh? Parang may namimiss out, ganun. But anyway... Entering inside gave me mixed feelings about a modern and garden restaurant. The interiors are eccentric but totally good in the eyes. Yeah, worth the double-tap! The staff would then accompany you to your seats and would hand out a menu. And guess what, the menu is placed on an iPad. V posh! Dada and I ordered the talk of the town: Chicken Cheese Fondue. Looking at it made my heart flutter already! What more when I tasted it? This hefty treat can actually be served by whole or half. The difference? Half orders would only have one flavor of the chosen Yang Nyum Sauce for the chicken, while the whole can have a choice of two. Ours was classic soy but you can also choose between sweet chili and oh-my-garlic. The boneless chicken already possesses a good taste so, dipping it in the cheese sauce gives a creamier and richer taste. Dada even partnered it with rice because why not? :) Breaking down every piece of this meal, I would also say that I super love the cheese french fries and onion rings! Dip all you want, go ahead! After we finished them all, we tried to eat the bread bowl where the cheese sauce was placed. Very sulit! But uhm? Okay, so... I was quite disappointed with the cheese sauce because it was not that gooey when served at us, especially when compared to the ones in the other tables. The cheese fondue given to us is not that as much as what I imagined it would be. But hey, cheese, cheese, cheese -- they are reaaally addicting! Eating can never be this full. Gotta to Kko Kko if you want a healthy yet big meals! It was just me and boyfie so we did not order much. Just by staring at the Chicken Cheese Fondue, both of us know it would be more than enough for two people. Plus, this is not sponsored so we gotta remember our tipid goals pact. Haha, heh! Since we were already there, might as well try the all-time fave Korean dessert: bingsu! I had the Mango Cheesecake Bingsu since the staff suggested it as the bestseller. And gosh, she can't be right! It is a little pricey and small but, worth it! Aside from the obvious ingredients, the square gummy candies blend very well in this dessert! So unique, I cannot! One of the best bingsu I ever tasted! Swear! So glad Dada and I tried something new today before watching the very exuberant movie: The Greatest Showman. Same with the movie, hands down to Kko Kko! The home-cooked yet contemporary flavors of the dishes did impress me. The fondue plus the cheesecake plus the boyfriend... Such a cheesy day, indeed! 💖 And if you are asking me if I would go back to this place? I will! I do not mind ordering the same dishes I had today but next time, I will try Dosirak and the ice sojus because these seem interesting. Can't wait, OMG! 💖 Kko Kko | Home of Seoul Chicken Ground Floor, Market!
