Remember when I shared in one of my previous posts that the way I dress represents units of myself? It is not just the color combination and weather condition I opt to account, it also comes with the mood and sentiments I am feeling for a certain moment. Emotions are one big factor why there are times I am just stuck in front of the mirror, staring keenly, with questions in my head if I am wearing Ela or not. Because I would always choose clothes in the closet that perfectly fit the feels of the day. Dressing up is really meant to make one feel good anyway, right? Right! So… Together with my all-time used word expressions, here are also five ways to be able to express the self through styling up: Nakakamiss Naman… This September has sent me reflection about the good and bad things that happened in the past and the hopeful and yearning excitements that might happen in the future. Discerning such histories and moments have sensed me nostalgia then, and! The perfect outfit for this mood would be this feeling old-fashioned OOTD that has a real touch of vintage since the midi skirt I am wearing here was a part of my Mom’s uniform way back in college! What a find, I know! Yasss! Sige Lang. After reminiscing about the memories of the past, I have to go back to basics again, the foundation and fundamentals of everything. Gotta keep things casual and cool whether it is a life decision or just like this outfit combo. A striped t-shirt, black pants, and rubber shoes can stand alone, but a jacket can also be added if the gusts start whistling. This is for an easy yet stylish aura. Must keep myself at peace in the right -- place, track, and principles always and all ways. Yoko Na, Pagod Na'ko, Katamad~ Will not be plastic here. There are inevitable days in a month when I wake up and feel that I am not in the mood for anything. However! That is not a hindrance to look less and feel weak. Actually, lazy outfits are so creative and fun, it lifts my spirit up and gives me the groove to survive. Rompers are the go-to clothes that make me look chic without even trying. Whenever the sluggish days come, it is sure that I will be wearing the light, chill, and breathable outfits in order to be calm for the rest of the day. Wuw, Ma'am! This is my ideal-young-adult-woman-looking-polished-without-sacrificing-the-personal-style. It might look like I am a madam with the co-ords but, I still release my own charm through the statement shirt, heeled sneakers, and the cheerful colors of the blazer and skort. Matching outfits is an ongoing trend that gives both comfort and professional gaze. Kasi nga: we have to preserve our purpose kaya kayod para sa sarili, para sa pamilya, at pinakaimportante, para sa bayan! Yung Totoo?!? Done with looking back, feeling okay, lazy moments, and productive days so of course, it all boils down to the most important, the truest of all… Wearing clothes that make me feel me. On workdays, I am automatically in my tight jeans but to tell you the truth, my heart actually sets for cute dresses. Partnering such garbs with either sneakers, rubber shoes, or any flat shoes almost all the time for I have this big penchant balancing the girly and edgy flair. Florals, as I said before, it is my aesthetic. And that is why, like flowers, I want to grow and glow, to bloom and blossom, to smile and be pollinated to a thousand miles. I am sent to this world for improvement and that is what I must do (and therefore, wear and become). Cliché as it may sound but, life is really a rollercoaster ride that has sooo many ups and downs, twists and turns, heart- and pulse-beating moments no one can ever escape. The emotions may betray us at times, but life is actually about feeling the moment and being in the moment. To living wide smiles and getting the love we deserve, Ela 💖
