I still remember that wonderful day when I first wore this outfit combination. I never thought this would pull through because all these clothes were all from the glory days of the past. And by that, of course, I am glad they still fit in my body. Haha! I got my yellow sando during high school years. It was when I started getting addicted to florals. I knew the color hates my skin but I still bought it because it's sooo pretty in my eyes! While the black velvet skirt was from college days. Skater skirts were a trend during that time so I tried ordering one online. I was mad since I got tricked by the seller. She sent me a blue and black velvet skirt when I ordered plain black and cotton. I was mad at that time so I hated it. Yet look at me now, it's my most used skirt ever! And that amber jacket? Hashtag vintage! I had this jacket when I was in elementary. I bet it faded through time, but it's okay since it complemented the modern fashion. Thanks, Dickies for using strong fabric, I can keep this and pass it to my daughter. Hahahahahaha, kidding. But seriously, I love this OOTD. One of the best! Mixing the old and the new will always be my thing. I see vintage ensembles as classics because fashion only goes around. Therefore, they must stay and never be forgotten. Just like this getup being blended together, it created an unexpected combination even if old and have contrasting textures and patterns -- making the overall look modern yet, timeless as well. Actually, I love wearing these togs every time I am trying to gain myself again. Dressing up with this set of clothes from yesteryears to the present period makes me feel like, "Woah, I can always carry on the good memories to make more beautiful days for the now and on so I gotta keep going, gotta keep exploring." That every time I wear this, it reminds me that just like these garments, I can always recreate a brand new me albeit whoever I was before. This combo allowed me to think that not everything in the past hurts and instead, can be fuel to stand up two times more than the first. I find this oh-oh-tee-dee stepping me out the comfort zone and embracing a better, stronger, and truer me. While this year may feel like nothing is going on and the days seem repeating like before but upon pondering, there actually is... are... have had events that led me to change and renewal. I may be intimidated and insecure sometimes from all the mistakes, frustrations, and pains; however, these things should instead: allow me to move, go, and strive for the best self I can ever be. There is no point in regretting what was gone. Just have to learn and try again. So! Here is to the girl who is gonna live life for real and must forever revivify by continuing being a happy pill to everybody. Kampay for eating guilty pleasures, traveling to somewhere new, partying all night, dressing to kill! To letting go and retaining what must be! For endless progress and thrive, hooray! 💖
