It has been six months since the Philippines experienced the COVID-19 pandemic. We were in a strict lockdown from March to May, then shifted to a relaxed community quarantine from June to August. We actually had the medium comm q; the modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ this month due to the call of our medical frontliners, but shifted back to the looser general comm q or GCQ after two weeks. Other countries are lie-lowing already, but here? Eh? Heh? Kinda weird how the cases are rising, but our community protocols are lolling. Literally and figuratively lol(l), huh! Ha? Ha... Yes! The virus is still outside and not yet contained. With the on-off decisions and whatever community quarantine measures are announced by the PH's Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases or IATF, we must not be comfortable! So... A few beneficial ways how to take care of the self and others: wearing face masks and face shields!!!!! As you can see from the photos above, I am wearing different kinds of face shields here. I own three -- the acetate face shield, acrylic face shield, and bucket hat face shield. Thanks to my sister who found face shield suppliers, (and is reselling these pieces of protective equipment, so message me if you are interested to buy some) I am double protected away from diseases! Annnd, to level up my COVID-19-protection outfits some more, I make sure that my face masks blend well with my clothes! I know! Effort! I looked at my closet palette first before buying, then, voila! Extra protected because I have the surgical mask tapped with a care mask. Plus you know, I got these colored masks with filler pockets for just PhP 20! Not kidding! Get them at Jukaykay! I hate toxic positivism, but yeah, this is my silver lining: to balance comfort and style despite the bad situation. Wearing such pieces of protective equipment does not just feel good and safe about myself, but face masks and face shields also symbolize my hope to contain the virus. These are my signs of caring for others because this virus can only be fought together. And to fight it, I must take care of myself. Taking care of the self is taking care of others, too 💖 Everyone must think of each other by caring for the self. I hope we are all mutual by knowing and thinking and doing this... And yup, it is true, my friendly advice to y'all, that no one should be comfortable until this nCov diminishes. But! You can be comfy with your life, as well as your style if you know you are wearing such safe protective gear! 💖Keep healthy and stay sane! Pull yourself as much as you can, please! We can get through this, so hang in there! 💖
