Though February 14 is not declared a holiday, believe it or not, some people do wait for this red day. This 24-hour celebration of love is mostly overrated for the ones who have plans going out. It is that time of the year where men are expected to hold bouquets of flowers, boxes of chocolates, big teddy bears, and other sweet stuff; hence, when ladies make sure to prep their hair, makeup, and dresses since they want to remember such moments that hopefully, will last forever. I will leave the boy things to the guys but as for the girls, here are some OOTD tips to rock a date effortlessly -- be it Valentine's Day or on any occasion. Romantic dinner date The aim of dating is having to enjoy and to be kilig at the same time. Valentines' naman eh so... One good way to express a fun and flirty personality is wearing laced off shoulders top and buttoned a-line skirt combo. Showing a bit of your skin gives a little sexy spin. However, you do not want to be that all-out girl, especially if you are on a first date so, pairing it with a skirt can neutralize the look. Popping some curls would also be a great addition for a lovey-dovey look. Dreamy day trip According to AccuWeather, this year's V-day will be clear from thunderstorms and rainfalls. You know what that means: you can go out of the city and meet Mr. Sun! Whether you are going to the beach or just having a road trip, halter top and patterned skirt combo would be a good idea. Since it is an out-of-town trip, walking may be inevitable. Ergo, wear sandals or flats. Remember to balance comfort and style so you would not spend the day complaining; thus, ruining your day with bae. Playful fun date Relax girl! This day is not supposed to be a hassle. Just enjoy the moment! If you care for some casual wear, why not? That is so fine! Simplicity is beautiful so, do not be afraid to wear a statement shirt paired with a denim skirt or shorts. This outfit would never go out of the way as it maintains natural and jolly vibes -- very perfect for arcade and amusement park dates. Late movie night Whether you would want to spend the whole day with your love, the hearts' day falls on a weekday and you gotta face the fact that both of you have classes or work. Do not fret though, you can still catch up the night! If you are planning to watch a movie (The Greatest Showman is the best choice!), do not forget to wear your jacket just in case the cinema house gets cold. Unlimited karaoke moments Aside from Filipinos, do you know that Koreans also love to sing? They opt to go to karaoke either to throw their sad emotions or rejoice happy memories. If you are heading for a chill night in this hub, you might want to steal a K-outfit too. Layering in the country is actually influenced by them. Off shoulders or turtleneck, you can effortlessly style it with a slip-on dress. Who knows, annyeong haseyo might turn out to be saranghaeyo. Ayiee! Rocking music fest Going for a bohemian OOTD when attending a concert or music fest is a yes yes! There is no Coachella here in the country but hey, UP Fair is happening this V-week. You might want to channel out your inner Vanessa Hudgens in you and wear the comfiest, yet most stylish pairings in your wardrobe. Jumpsuit or co-ords, black or bright, as long as the clothes give life, go on and slay it! Fancy hotel dinner I know the millennial generation is not into this old-fashioned, fancy-yonce kind of date because we are modern thinkers and we want to save money as much as possible. However, you might want to have a second thought and consider to try this formal date once in your life. Fine dining at a hotel must be fancy, so you must be too! PS: If you are not like Cinderella who loves heels (obviously you are more like me; a different kind of Cinder-Ela), I encourage you to wear flats or sneakers even if this is an evening wear. It can’t be seen anyway! What do you care more about, style or comfort? Take your pick. Bitter ones will always say, oh the 14th is nothing, it is just an ordinary day, who cares, blablabla. Oh geez peeps, please, calm down! Well yes, it may just be another day but... Valentines' Day is a day to celebrate love! It is not limited to a romantic partner. It can also be for your family, friends, or even yourself! I know your heart just wants to be loved and cared about but, let us not spread harshness. Be excited about how beautiful these 24 hours can be. Shall we? :) :) :) Enjoy your February 14th, and every day of your life! Till then and so much love, Ela 💖
