I think I said my well wishes for twenty-twenty-one in my other blog post/s already, but in case I have not greeted yet... Happy New Year! Happy 2021 to all people in the world! It might be the half of the first month now, but still, HNY y'all! And since we are talking about new beginnings and fresh starts, I wanna share with you my Back To Black slash Black To Basics outfit. Since I believe that one can never reset without looking back, thus, cannot reform without the basics or fundamentals, I decided to express those lingering thoughts through this OOTD then 💖 I had been wearing co-ords or coordinated outfits every New Year for the past five years. I actually featured those cute co-ords OOTD compilation last January 2020. However, as part of my Start Of Something New vision and my Breaking Free mission, I freed myself from that bygone tradition. I really want this year to be a clean slate. As in, clean as new. This is why, upon reflecting on several things, there are some that I have had to let go, so I could fully renew. One of which, my style. Well... I will still be that boho chic who mixes girly and edgy together. For sure, there would be times where I could be so feminine, but very hypebae on some days. Same as before, I would just dress up according to my mood. I would keep on OOTD-ing whatever feels right for me. Of course, comfy is the key and forever will be! However for 2021, I guess I am venturing on midi to long dresses. I have started that kind of fashion this New Year's Day, plus this one, and I super love it! My grandmother even approves it! I am also open to the idea of wearing according to my age already. Been dispatching my younger-owned clothes since lockdown happened, too. So, I really see #stylEla forecast leading to more covered pieces of clothing such as maxis, blazers, pants, and the like. It must be true that I did not co-ord-ed this Jan 1... But, for Dada and I's first date this 2021? I cannot help but twin this oversized blazer and tutu skirt into one OOTD! This black skirt and black blazer were bought separately, yet oh boy, they turned out as a perfect combination! The boyf actually praised this getup when he saw me, so yay! Yes, I might have broken my NY norm. However, I would continue wearing matchy-matchys, of course! Monochromes have been my fash taste ever since I was eleven and I still view the self with these in the future. I also wanna share that I dressed up a Pantone-2021-inspired OOTD during the first day of the year. Uh-huh, the illuminating and ultimate gray. Zodiac horoscopes manifest that yellow is lucky for Boars like me, so, yay, okay... Just funny though because my Mama actually pushed me to wear this sorta co-ords outfit during the year welcome. As per her, black is lucky. But when I researched because I got curious, black is lucky for her year and not for me! LOL! But if we would base on those fortune-telling stuff, in fairness for my first Fashion post, it is claimed that purple, white, and blue are wonderful colors for Metal Ox! It is true I actually decided to pair the blacks first in this getup. Mom made me. Wanna make her proud, eh. Then, I remembered Dada telling me to wear his Christmas gift, the purple and pink Airmax 720, with a skirt. I swear, he said that combo would look great. I always wear sneakers on dresses and skirts, but I must say huh, the beau got this correctly here! Since I was already on a purpy sneakers, I partnered it with a violet Coach bag, which is also a present from my Tita Grace. I just felt like I wanna continue the monochromes via accessories as well, so there. But as you can see, another color cast appeared. Since I do not have a wide belt in lila, I just settled in the nearer hue which was blue. No regrets though! The royal blue belt complimented the whole ensemble as a pop of color. Admit it, it added much wow factor in this classic ow-ow-ti-dih! And yep, yep, before I forgot! I was wearing a white turtle neck from Uniqlo because that is also a gift from Dada when he went to Japan the first time. Wala lang? I just think that tee would make me happier, too, eh :)
