I still remember so clearly that fun Saturday when I spent my morning till lunch with the whole family, surprised a friend during the afternoon, and babe time for the rest of the day with mi Dada loves. Thanks to that wonderfully-balanced day, it removed if not all, most of my saturations away! I am a strong and independent (and defensive) woman. I can carry myself -- I know and believe I can -- but I also need help from other forces to pick my life up sometimes, ya know. My happy heart has become more than grateful for this rewarding feeling as the black holes come to recover, puzzled pieces to be completed again, and like drained batteries being recharged a hundred and eleven percent after a tiresome work week. Ahhhh, I heart this all-in day! 💖 But if you think that would be all... Nah, it is not. Not yet. Still, I have to highlight moments with myself too, of course! Hashtag self-love! I had that me time when I was choosing my clothes for the day. I wore my green and black checkered dress with tie-top spaghetti straps, plus my black aztec sneakers with medium-high socks. Partnered with this throwback-ish style was a thick, black jacket with furs on its outlines like the sleeves and the hood. Yup, this is an amazing OOTD that fits the on and off weather. I approve my forecasts correct for wearing this combo since most days in the Philippines are hot and afternoons are wet as the transition of the rainy season began. Was able to enjoy this dress whether with or without the jacket. Indeed then, this is my rain-or-shine-ready kind of outfit that I can wear all year round in the country because the weather is unpredictable already. Gotta be a girl scout who is always prepared to be sure, duh! :) What I loved even more about this look is: it is a style inspiration from all my favorite girls -- the hair like Gabriella Montez (from High School Musical), the dress like Rachel Green (from F•R•I•E•N•D•S), the puffer jacket like Ariana Grande (from her single Everyday), and the Keds like Taylor Swift (from her music video of 22 which happened to be my age too)! I know it is not exactly the same as theirs but I really got the inspo from these beautiful lasses. Just imagine the glow in my heart when I dressed up this OOTD, knowing I got to mix the styles of these iconic characters into one! I just super love the idea how these idols of mine were like combined into one through me, through this outfit. Feels as if I am parallel and one of them. And yeah, it is just motivating. And kakilig. Heehee. PS:
While it has always been said that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," just a little disclaimer that one must still search for his or her authenticity, originality, and distinctiveness. Gotta be who you really are while being motivated by others (like what I do) because revealing the true and unique self is what matters the most. Get inspired, go! Help the identity up, go! But again, the real you, okay? Okay!~~~
