Dada and I were not fully satisfied with all the things that happened during our seventh-year celebration. We definitely had fun that night! But, bitin. We zo clingy. Saying our sarreh!!! And so we thought of pushing our anniversary travel since that was the realest plan anyway. Can't decide where to go because both of us have different places we want to go. After some exchange of ideas, finally, we were here at Puerto Galera.
HOW TO GET THERE There is no direct transportation from Manila going to Puerto Galera. But, it is true that it is just a few hours away from the city. South Luzon peeps are actually lucky because they are close to the most accessible gateway to this paradise, through Batangas Port. So for the Manilenyos out there, take a bus bounding to Batangas Pier. It usually takes two to three hours drive, depending on the traffic. From there, you can ride ships going to Puerto Galera. Travel time is normally one to two hours. Take note that there are two choices of landing in Puerto Galera. It can either be at White Beach or Sabang Beach. And, there are no small bangkas operating anymore. An alternative would be riding a ship to Calapan, the provincial capital. And from the bayan, another van or jeep to Puerto Galera. NIGHTLIFE The whole stretch of White Beach is very alive! Indeed, Puerto Galera nightlife is comparable to Boracay! It also has the beachfront sandcastles and impressive fire dancers. Though there are no explicit claims, the beach is like divided into different stations too. There is a part for food parks and restaurants, comedy bars on the other. Chill places around too where some are having session gigs and playful karaoke. Gotta mention: stargazing here is feasible too! WATER TOUR / ISLAND HOPPING The water tour or island hopping is the main attraction here in Puerto Galera. So, this two- to four-hour activity should not be missed! Most packages are priced PhP 1,500 per person -- inclusive of the couple boat, tour guide, and snorkeling apparatuses. Dada and I were able to go to the Sandbar Island, Underwater Cave (albeit scared), Unknown Beach (asked Kuya about the name but he does not know haha + we stayed here because the famous Bayanan Beach was already crowded and we do not want that because ya know, Instagram lol), Coral Garden, Giant Clams, and Starfish Island. Unluckily, I had my period during this visit, reason why I do not want to swim. However, our guide pushed me because "sayang, Ma'am." And so I did! And I have no regrets! Gosh guys, oh my heart!!! Scuba diving in the middle of the sea, we saw colorful shoal of fishes, sprawling around healthy coral gardens! The place, experience; they left me breathless! Will definitely come back for the land tour! Based on the blogs I read, no one mentioned anything about it. But actually, there are a lot of attractions in Puerto Galera that do not involve water activities. This shall be perfect for those who are afraid of the sea. Yes, people like them exist too since I know some. Haha! And next time, I will make sure that it will be a 3D/2N stay so I can roam enough the whole area. Sa ngayon, hanggang sa muli nalang muna! :)
