It was just a week since UP Fair 2018 yet ugh, I'm already looking forward to the next! Solid this year, pare. I wish it didn't end! Still on a hangover. It was that fun! I was here last twenty-seventeen too. Though nothing much has changed because the concert scene still happened at Sunken Garden, food kiosks still never fail satisfying hungry tummies, carnival rides and games still on-site adding more flavor to the event, nationalistic advocacies still proliferate informing both Isko/Iska and outsiders, and of course, bands still rock the stage proving OPM would always be alive, I liked this year better than the others. Level up with boyfie because we attended three consecutive nights: Elements, Cosmos, and Roots from Thursday night to Sunday morning. It was tiring but speechlessly detoxifying! Music does rejuvenate the soul. Long live, Original Pinoy Music and the staff who made this UP Fair 2018 a success!!! What to expect in UP Fair:
Why one should go to this event:
Some notes to ponder:
UP Fair is an event that promotes Filipino culture, notable advocacies, and good music all at the same time. This event just shows how Millennials can party overnight, but learn anew all through the night (and all of our nights). OPM appreciation and societal awakening? And not to mention, yummy eats and best company? Only in UP!

One fun fact: I am a sweet tooth. Second fun fact: I love interactive museums. Third fun fact: There is a newly-opened desserted land in the Philippines which caters this both facts in one. Drum rolling for *dundununun* The Dessert Museum! *badum tss* Forget the appetizers, entrées, and all set meals on the menu. Here at The Dessert Museum, sweets are the main star in the table! Whether you are celebrating Valentines’ Day with your bae-loved, friendsary with your squad, or just wanna have a good time (and selfies, of course) with your special folks, this must be a sweet treat for you! 💖
THE TWO-HOUR ENCOUNTER AT THE DESSERT MUSEUM SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR. Already inside the museum but still in the holding area. After a few months of waiting, finally, my boyfie and I had our cravings satisfied when we went to the early bird opening of The Dessert Museum last Saturday. It was the first day opened to the public, though some bloggers were able to peek this sweet-defying museum first. Still lucky we were because aside from the discount, we got to experience it first-hand. Yay! Just seeing the façade of The Dessert Museum gave me so much feels! Looking from afar, walking step by step to the place, it hyped me that makes me wanna go inside already. But! We were a little early for our schedule so we waited until it was our turn. The usherettes accommodated us by giving the pink waiver passport so we got to understand the rules and regulations of the museum. Spare some extra minutes before your scheduled time because the staff still needs to verify the tickets. The reception is where you would be getting the bracelet or wristband that you need when claiming the free desserts. You must tap that thing to their scanner in order to get the yummy goods. Also, the holding area lets you see some facts about the genius inventors of our favorite treats we have now. AND, THIS IS IT! The moment I (or we) have been waiting for! When everything is okay and the batch is complete already, the marshals would again remind some stuff and give out information before going in. And without further ado, the team would welcome you officially as you dive in the sugar buffet paradise of The Dessert Museum. The first room in The Dessert Museum is the Donut Room! Slide into the world filled with donuts, donuts, and nothing but donuts. Unlike the real doughnuts that are soft, the floating doughnuts in the room are sturdy. Be careful in touching it for it might bump your head. Haha! While the slide, I love. Such a perfect way to enter the room! Aside from the hole that is too cute to handle, know that it is slippery too. This is also a note for the ones who want to try it while wearing skirts or dresses when coming here. Not joking, it really is glidey! Also, let us not forget the wall packed with different doughnuts that gives a perfect background for your profile picture. Yehezz! The dreamy Marshmallow Room comes next. Passing through the revolving marshmallow pathway leads you to a heaven of fluffy white mm-lows! The room welcomes you with a look like it is raining with marshies and mallows. But I have a question: what do we see after the rain? Rainbow! Yup, at the end of the rain, and also the room, you would see a rainbow made with you know what -- marshmallows of course. Well sad to say, it doesn’t have pots of gold we always expect. Instead, it has edible and yummy mallows! Uhuh, this is the first room where you would get your very first goody. Feel free to choose your dip with caramel, strawberry, and chocolate. I thought the Naughty or Nice doors lead to two different rooms. It happens that it was just an illusion. The facilitator would only psych you if you want to be that nice guy or naughty one. Choose wisely and see the truest colors unveil. Hahaha! This room has hearts section and gumballs part which I enjoyed so much. Even if this is called Candy Cane Room, it is not painted with the usual red. Instead, it is divided into blue and pink colors to make pastel dreams come to life! For me, this room is the most interactive one. You can use the swings and fly, the two ropes and jump, the seesaw and play. This candy corner whispers aim high, up, up, and away! Indeed a fun segment but do not forget to pick your favored strawberry and blueberry macarons as you proceed to the next room. Scream all you want! Kidding, do not. Hahaha! But I still scream (forever will) for ice cream because yay for complimentary popsicles! The museum offers various flavors like ube, avocado, mango, and the like. The pops have bits of the flavor you picked. Since I had ube, ube bits were on mine; Dada had avocado, so avocado bits on his s-cream. It is a little sticky so trust that it would not drip quick. Perfect props to the hot air balloony-like stuff in there! Or with the big ice cream in the middle. The mural here is one of the unique wall arts I saw in my life. It is like a cone that carries all people’s favorite flavors. The artistic representation makes one want to pose a little for some ~aesthetic~ feels. While the Bubblegum Room, is so pop! Very witty and geez, I love it! You would have a chance to be inside a giant bubble there. I know, I know, this is part of my bucket list! How did it feel like in a bubble? Incredibly (because I don’t exactly know but) ecstatic! Few seconds but forever moment it was in my life. Hihihi. While waiting for the life-sized gumball experience, you can take photos with the maker designed as lips that gushes bubbles. You know, bubbles, just like the old times. Heehee. And when it is your turn to the windy dome of balls, seize the two minutes and voila! Albeit the line to the gumball machine was a little long since it takes two minutes, carry on because it is so much fun! It took us a lot of time here so we were kinda delayed for the next room which is… The Gummy Bears Room! Not a fan of these candy cuties but I super love this haven the most! Obsessed with this because the colors are just perf for my feed. It is too colorful, too lively, too vibrant. I felt like I was in a studio, waiting for a magazine shoot to produce. So nice, I cannot! The enormous combined with floating gummy bears and chromatically balloons are just the best! Although Dada and I just stayed here for five minutes only (cuz we have to move to the next room), I loved all my pics here and was able to cherish those happy moments. Indeed sugar and spice and everything nice! I would choose to stay here the longest if I had a chance. The gummy bears are like chill pills. Lie all you want down the tub filled with balls or leap at the pink and black trampoline and just enjoy. Cotton Candy Room can pass the standards of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. It is like a forest filled with cotton candy dreaming and magical mermaid lighting. I love the center where you can pose as if you are inside the cotton candy machine. This time though, the imitation is also soft like the real one. Pink feed people must be so happy in this room. A little chika about what happened here: Got a chance to try making my cotton candy. I was just joking around but the lady allowed me too. I didn’t finish it though. I really just asked for photo-op purposes. Hehe! I mean, the The Dessert Museum people are just so nice. Huehue. This part made me wanna ask myself, cotton candies be love? And last but definitely not the least, make a room for the Cake Pop Room! Upside down cake pops are hanged here where visitors can ride and hop into it. It also has three basketball rings if you want to channel out your inner bb player. However, the balls are not the real orange ones. Instead, these are fluffy pillows with goofy eyes. Dessert Museum also has some thing that's unexplainable or I just don't know what it's called on both sides of the room. The cake pops are placed in there but okay, it is still cute. Oh cake, okay-k, ocake. Haha! Since this is the last room, you would get the last dessert which is cake pops. But before leaving, the staff would hand you a balloon souvenir with confetti and chocolate inside. I know, we did not expect about that. Aww, right? The mind-bending and heart-stopping rooms: Donut, Marshmallow, Candy Cane, Ice Cream, Bubblegum, Gummy Bears, Cotton Candy, and Cake Pops are so much love! Going inside every room feels like I am in Narnia but, dessert edition. Indeed, it is a suh-weet factory as it unleashes the inner child in you. With all the shuga sweet lovin,' everythin', one can truly bring out his/her artsy side here. Sugar rush all over your body, yet? Hurry and go to The Dessert Museum now! :) The Dessert Museum

The results? Of course, a mission that’s always completed! Getting curious about my hangout places now? Let me give you a possible Satur-yay in BGC area then. Keep on reading! :) |
Central Square is the only mall located at Bonifacio High Street. Yummy restos and branded shops aside, this retail space also owns four luxury cinema theaters. Entering this floor always steps me to another world because of the intergalactic feels it makes me. My meet-the-future impression sure is true because it features Dolby Atmos and 4DX motion chair experience that other cinemas still can’t provide. To add up, it isn’t that pricey as well! Such comfort, such joy for a motion-picture viewing. | While Timezone has been part of me since I was in grade school. Some parents (actually, it’s just my mom???) think their children are wasting their time and money here. But trust me ‘rents, this zone could teach many things to your sons and daughters. This is where I developed my courageousness to try and try and just try every time I lose, my competitiveness to beat myself whenever I earn a high score, my cheerfulness to simply enjoy the little things whether I took home a prize or not because what’s important is the good time spent with friends. Timezone is more than just an arcade, it is also a wonderful playground that teaches life lessons in a fun and subtle way. |
Sunnies Café (7 PM) B3, Unit 748, Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City Sunnies at night? Why not! For night owls who would love to know the feel of being a morning person, this is for you! Sunnies Café, aside from its eyewear brand, got famous for its brunch dishes. Hooray for their all-day breakfast meals, got nothing to worry about pancakes and waffles even if it’s ten in the evening already! What more to love is that Sunnies Café attracts diners for better feed goals. Thanks to its pastel walls, chic interiors, and delectable smoothies, you can really tell it is heaven for millennials. No doubt this could be our new favorite gram food place. Undeniably worth the double-tap! |
